Why Ozone? Aren't there other organizations that serve the same purpose as Ozone?
No. While wonderful organizations like Young Life, FCA, Student Venture and others are in existence in some of our targeted communities, and while we support these organizations and their purposes, we believe that Ozone is designed for a different purpose. First of all, Ozone is designed to capitalize on the Camp Ozark experience and philosophy. More importantly, Ozone is specifically designed to help kids grow in their walk with God and spiritual maturity (discipleship), while most of the aforementioned organizations are designed to introduce kids to a relationship with God (evangelism). In addition, our primary emphasis will be on current and former campers of Camp Ozark though we will certainly not limit our outreach in such a manner.
Just exactly how are Camp Ozark and Ozone related?
Ozone is a separate entity and organization from Camp Ozark. Camp Ozark will not derive any income, fees or payments of any kind from Ozone. Camp Ozark will provide support to Ozone in the form of financial contributions, leadership, program development and staff recruitment and assignment.
How will the paid staff members be selected?
We anticipate that most, if not all, of the Ozone paid staff members will be current or former employees of Camp Ozark. They will be selected using criteria that take into account their maturity, responsibility, desire and dedication to the Ozone objectives, and primarily, their desire to serve God and love the kids. All will be college graduates.
How will the funds be utilized and accounted for?
All donations will be used at the local level in the specific area of a city for which they are earmarked. If for any reason the funds raised in a particular area are insufficient to fund a local Ozone, the donor will have the option of a refund if desired. All funds in excess of annual expenditures will be rolled over to the next operating year for use by the local Ozone. All funds will be disbursed using generally accepted disbursement methods. An annual audit of each local Ozone's income and expenses will be performed annually by a Certified Public Accountant.
Will there be more than one local club in a city?
Yes. It is anticipated that several cities will possibly have multiple Ozones, each serving a specific school or geographic area of the city. Each Ozone will be a distinct entity with separate staffing, budgeting, and board of directors.
