Camp Ozark

Overview
The Camp Ozark Foundation helps provide an incomparable Values-Based summer camp experience for many children and a year round ministry to Camp Ozark campers and their friends. Many of the children deprived of a summer camp experience are those who need it most. The Camp Ozark Foundation seeks to provide these children with an incomparable camping experience through the generosity of Camp Ozark families, alumni and friends.

Ozark for All The Camp Ozark Foundation sponsors Ozark for All, an incomparable, Values-Based summer camp experience for economically and socially under-served children. The Camp Ozark Foundation seeks to partner with urban schools and churches as an aid to families in helping nurture and develop their children. We believe that there literally should be "no child left behind" and that all children should have the chance to experience a positive and encouraging summer camp experience.

OZONE
The Camp Ozark Foundation facilitates OZONE, a year round, Values-Based ministry that is an aide to families in helping them develop and nurture their children. OZONE is staffed by wholesome, energetic and authentic Christian leaders that mentor and support middle school and high school aged children. OZONE provides a year-round follow-up ministry through special events, weekly OZONE meetings and small group devotionals. OZONE is designed to assist kids in deepening their relationship with Jesus Christ, meet challenges unique to their living environment and become leaders in their schools and communities.

F.I.T. Scholarship Fund
The First Is Third (F.I.T.) Scholarship Fund is primarily supported by The Camp Ozark Foundation and Sam and Susan Torn, owners and directors of Camp Ozark. Sam and Susan believe that God has blessed them with a unique ministry that allows kids to know Jesus Christ and live a life of faith through action rather than words. The F.I.T. Scholarship Fund provides a variety of children, not normally able to come to camp, with the Ozark experience.

Ozark Ministries International
Ozark Ministries International is primarily supported by the Camp Ozark Foundation and Sam and Susan Torn. Several years ago, Sam and Susan formed a relationship with Gloria Al Padre (GAP Ministries) and Dr. Hugo Irogoyen, a Hispanic physician whose life is dedicated to improving the living conditions of impoverished residents of Mexico carrying the love of God. The Camp Ozark Foundation and Sam and Susan Torn are major funders of GAP. The Camp Ozark Staff sponsors working mission trips to rural Mexico on a regular basis.

Values-Based Camping
A truly great summer camp experience builds self-esteem and independence; teaches a child respect for others and how to work as a team member; and, it builds a support system of friends and mentors for all, including those that do not benefit from the support a family provides.

Mission
To provide a incomparable camping experience and year round mentoring program to boys and girls ages 7 to 17, with a special emphasis on the under-served and disadvantaged, while seeking to establish and deepen relationships with Jesus Christ.

Vision
To expand the ability to provide an incomparable, Values-Based summer camp experience and follow-up to children from urban areas in Texas, Louisiana, Tennessee, Arkansas and Oklahoma through a communication of the vision and investment of time, energy and resources of local families, alumni, and business and community leaders.

Parable of the Sower and the Seed
That same day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the lake. Such large crowds gathered around him that he got into a boat and sat in it, while all the people stood on the shore. Then he told them many things in parables, saying: "A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop, a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. He who has ears, let him hear.
